Hagen is an independent major city on the south-eastern edge of the Ruhr region, the gateway to the Sauerland, bordering directly on Dortmund. Our fully equipped crew apartment is on Böler Straße, with private parking and a quiet location. For assembly teams, what counts here is the Lennetal industrial estate, the motorway interchanges and the rail connection to Dortmund. Lennetal industrial estate and cold-rolled strip
Hagen is a traditional steel, metal and battery hub. Its largest industrial estate is the Lennetal, with a cluster of cold-rolled strip and steel businesses, including thyssenkrupp Hohenlimburg with around 1,000 employees, plus the Bilstein Group, C.D. Wälzholz, Carl Bechem and the battery manufacturer Hawker/EnerSys. On the former Varta site, Hagen Valley is emerging as a future-oriented area for energy technology. For workers, that means lasting demand in industry and maintenance.
A1, A45 and A46 with the Westhofener Kreuz
The A1, A45 and A46 run through the city area. At the Kreuz Hagen, the A45 and A46 meet; to the north towards Dortmund lies the Westhofener Kreuz of the A1 and A45. Via the Hagen Nord and West (A1), Hagen Süd (A45) and Hagen-Hohenlimburg (A46) junctions, the van is quickly on the motorway towards Dortmund and into the Ruhr region.
Main station with long-distance services and S-Bahn
Hagen Hauptbahnhof has long-distance services with ICE and IC. The S5 S-Bahn line runs to Dortmund via Witten and Wetter, the S8 and S9 towards Wuppertal and Essen; plus the RE4, RB40 and RB52 regional trains. That gives several direct connections to Dortmund, even without your own vehicle.
Private parking and tradesperson permit
Private parking is available at our apartment on Böler Straße. For the local job, the city of Hagen additionally issues a tradesperson parking permit under Paragraf 46 StVO, which lets company vehicles park in no-stopping and residents' parking zones and at parking ticket machines without charge.
Parking on site
The city of Hagen issues trades and commercial businesses an exemption permit under Paragraf 46 StVO. It lets company vehicles park, only for the duration of the job, in restricted no-stopping areas, in residents' parking zones and at parking ticket machines without charge or time limit; the fee for the permit is tiered (10.20 to 767 euros). At our apartment itself, private parking is available.
